August 1, 2002

SEPULTURA are collaborating with Brazilian DJ Zé Gonzales (i.e. PLANET HEMP, RACIONAIS, XIS) and rapper Sabotage on a version of PUBLIC ENEMY's "Black Steel In The Hour Of Chaos", which will be included on the group's upcoming EP of covers.

As of Wednesday, July 31st, SEPULTURA's Igor Cavalera had completed the drum tracks for the as-yet-untitled mini-CD at São Paulo, Brazil's Trama studios with producer Steve Evetts (who had previously worked with the band on their Nation CD),and are presently laying down the rest of the instruments for a late 2002 release through an as-yet-undetermined label.

As previously reported, the EP will consist of several cover songs and a couple of new cuts, including the track "Corrupted", which SEPULTURA had previewed during their recent Brazilian tour. Among the cover songs set to appear on the CD are HELLHAMMER's "Messiah", JANE'S ADDICTION's "Mountain Song", DEVO's "Mongoloid", U2's "Bullet The Blue Sky", and MASSIVE ATTACK's "Angel".
